2007 Chrysler Pacifica Crankshaft Parts and Q&A
Q: How is a Crankshaft Installed in an Engine on 2007 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: The first thing to do is identify the main bearings, grease them with engine oil and only then place the crankshaft main bearing halves into the engine block. Put the crankshaft in the right position inside the engine block, then do the main bearing fitting. Check the main cap bolts for any evidence of stretching and if any are stretched, you should change them out. Please test each bolt by ensuring that all the threads are in contact with a straight edge or scale before tightening them. Attach the main bearing caps and bolts with new cross bolt and washer assemblies, tightening the bolts to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.), then turn them an extra 1/4 turn. Position and install the connecting rod and bearing caps on the crankshaft next and follow that with the crankshaft rear oil seal, crankshaft sprocket, timing chain and camshaft sprocket. Afterward, fit the timing chain cover, oil pick-up tube and oil pan, link the transaxle to the engine and then install the engine assembly as the last step.
