How to Service and Repair a Shift Cable on 2007 Chrysler Pacifica?

When dealing with repairs or maintenance of the shift interlock cable, disconnect the battery negative cable first. After that, take out the instrument panel lower silencer panel and the inflatable knee blocker. Park your car in ACC mode and pull the shift interlock cable away from the ignition cylinder. Then, take out the center console and free the shift interlock cable from the shift mechanism, twisting the retention tab with a suitable screwdriver.
