2007 Chrysler Pacifica Automatic Transmission Filter Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Perform a Fluid and Automatic Transmission Filter Service on a Transaxle on 2007 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Always replace the fluid and filters when their recommended change time comes for the transaxle, to help the vehicle run properly. Only Mopar® Atf+4 fluid should go in and you should update both the filter and the transmission oil at this time, fully cleaning the magnet in the oil pan with a clean and dry cloth. After taking the transaxle apart, it's important to change the fluid and filter. Put the vehicle on the hoist and put a drain container below the oil pan under the transaxle before you start. Lose the bolts, tap one part of the pan to break it away and drain all the fluid before removing the pan. With the nuts on the oil filter loose, put the new oil filter and its nuts on and tighten them up to 5 Nm (40 in. lbs.). Use a bead of Mopar® Atf Rtv (Ms-gf41) to attach the fluid filter oil pan, clean both the magnet and oil pan and fasten the oil pan to its seat once more, making sure the bolts are tightened to 6 Nm (50 in. lbs.). Put four quarts of Mopar® Atf+4 into the dipstick tube, start the engine and let it idle for at least one minute. While the parking and service brakes are applied, take the selector lever and briefly move it to its positions, returning to park or neutral. Make sure the transaxle fluid is at 3 mm (1/8 in.) less than the lowest level shown on the dipstick. When the transaxle has reached an operating temperature of 82°C (180°F), reexamine the fluid level and fill the required amount of fluid according to the procedure. Place the dipstick all the way into the dipstick opening so no dirt gets inside the transaxle.
