2007 Chrysler Pacifica Thermostat Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a Thermostat on a 3.8L Engine on 2007 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: First make sure the bulged metal around the recess is removed from the spot where the OEM thermostat staking took place to properly fit the new thermostat. You don't have to replace the new thermostat back into the connector. After that, set the thermostat onto the coolant outlet connector, bringing the notches on the thermostat and the connector together for correct placement of the air bleed. Attach a new gasket to the thermostat and the connector and make sure the thermostat is in the right location. Secure the thermostat and connector assembly to the intake manifold by tightening all the bolts to 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.). Then link the radiator upper hose to the coolant outlet socket and add fluid to the cooling system until it reaches the proper level.
