How to Service and Repair a Cigarette Lighter in the Auxiliary Power Outlet on 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable before touching the auxiliary cigarette lighter in the Front Console and Rear Cargo Area. Pay attention to the location of the retaining bosses. Put 90-degree external snap ring pliers into the mating tips and squeeze, using the force to pull the bosses out of the base. Use a gentle motion while the pliers guide the base up through the mounting ring. Lift the base wires apart, lay the base off to the side and then remove the base mount ring. If there is a problem with the panel-mounted cigar lighter, you need to change the entire accessory switch bezel.
