How to Service and Repair a Cigarette Lighter on 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

Always begin by removing the negative battery cable in order to service the Front Console and Rear Cargo Area mounted auxiliary cigarette lighters. Notice where the retaining bosses are located. Take 90-degree tip pliers and insert them into the bosses of the part to squeeze and remove the snap rings from the base. Softly move the pliers to take out the base from through the mounting ring. Our TV has a removable base, so first lift out the base, then get rid of the base mount ring. Installation comprises fixing the mount ring onto the instrument panel, running the wires through it and combining the cap and mount ring at 9 o'clock, using the same keyhole in the instrument panel to hold them together. Match the 11 o'clock side of the base alignment rib to the groove in the mount ring as you secure the wires to both pieces. Lock the base firmly into the bezel, slot in the cigarette lighter cap and attach the battery negative cable.
