For 2.0/2.4L engine fuel injectors, first fit them onto the fuel rail with the O-ring facing down and apply a tiny layer of clean engine oil to the O-ring on the nozzle end of every injector. Insert each fuel injector through its opening in the intake manifold, making sure it sits there securely and tighten the fuel rail bolts to 12 Nm (8 ft. lbs.). Fit the electrical connectors to the fuel injectors and add the fuel supply tube to the fuel rail. Next, fit the intake manifold and, if you have it, the engine cover or throttle control shield. Put back the negative battery cable, attach the air cleaner lid, link the inlet air temperature sensor and makeup air hose and tighten the air inlet tube clamps to 3 ± 1 Nm (25 ± 5 in. lbs.).
