  • Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Throttle Cable on 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
    A: Servicing and repairing the throttle cable and linkage requires first opening the throttle body lever wide open from inside the engine area. After that, separate the throttle cable from the throttle body cam. After letting the pedal up inside the car, pop out the cable clip and pull the throttle cable away from the top of the pedal shaft. Pull out the retainer clip from both the throttle cable and the place where it meets the dash panel grommet. While in the engine compartment, remove the throttle cable and grommet out of the dash panel. Next, if the bike has a typical throttle bracket, squeeze both ears on the retainer and gently tug the throttle cable from the bracket. If it has a slide snap design, slide the locking tab out of the hole and pull the assembly from the bracket.
