2007 Chrysler Sebring Battery Cable Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain Battery Cables on 2007 Chrysler Sebring?
A: Always wear both rubber gloves and safety glasses when working on the battery cables. Put a fastener through the hole in the negative battery cable remote terminal and attach it to the remote battery post to keep it from contacting the remote battery. Use a hoist to raise the vehicle, then take out and put aside the battery. For diesel cars, take the in-line connector off of the harness that goes to the instrument panel. Raise the vehicle and remove the battery harness negative cable, then detach the negative cable from the remote negative battery post and also its matching nut. Pull off the cover of the remote positive battery terminal, unhook the nut from the starter harness positive cable and take off the cable from the remote battery post. Remove the positive terminal of the remote battery from the left strut tower's bracket. Detach the glow plug module connector and both cabin heater relay connectors from diesel engines. Empt the TIPM from its bracket, flip it over and get rid of the battery harness cable attached to the TIPM stud. Work through the vehicle, removing the last retaining pushpins, fasteners and routing clips on the battery harness for easy removal. Then, disconnect the negative cable from the negative battery post and isolate that cable from the battery harness root end connector on the starter harness. Get rid of the retaining nut and then the cable on the remote negative battery post. Start by removing the cover on the positive terminal of the remote battery, then drive out the nut holding the starter harness cable in the same terminal and remove the cable itself. Raise the vehicle back, then unbolt and remove the starter harness negative cable bolt and the cable from the area under the engine. Unscrew the retaining nut and also remove the cable from the starter positive battery. After that, take out the rest of the starter harness retaining clips, pushpins and fasteners until the harness is clear of the engine compartment.
