2007 Chrysler Sebring Timing Chain Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace a Timing Chain on 2007 Chrysler Sebring?
A: Raise the engine cover by pulling it up from its connector to start removing the timing chain. Before you can check the pressure, perform the bleed procedure and take the negative battery cable off. Then, get rid of the coolant recovery bottle and put aside the power steering reservoir. Attach a wire to both make-up air hose and PCV hose, then remove the ignition coil's electrical connections. Lift the cylinder head cover out and raise the vehicle. Take off the splash shield for the right lower section and make sure the engine is at top dead center. Take out the accessory drive belt, then remove the lower A/C compressor bolts and the lower bracket of the A/C compressor. After that, unbolt and remove the accessory drive belt lower idler pulley, crankshaft damper and front crankshaft oil seal. Get rid of the water pump pulley and right bolt held by the engine mount bracket. Ease out the lower bolts in the timing chain cover, lift the vehicle off the ground and remove the support holding the power steering line. Take out the power steering pump and keep the engine propped up on a jack and a wooden block beneath the oil pan. Take away the right engine mount to access bracket bolts, the accessory drive belt upper idler pulley and the right engine mount bracket. Taken out the accessory drive belt tensioner and the timing chain cover retaining bolts. Lift the timing chain cover away from the rest of the engine by using pry points and remove it from the bottom of the car.
