2007 Dodge Caliber Shock Absorber Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Properly Install a Shock Absorber on 2007 Dodge Caliber?
A: Start by pushing the lower end of the shock assembly through the control arm hole above, making sure it's above the body before putting it into place in the bracket. After that, insert bolt 1 and nut 3 to join the shock assembly 2 with the lower control arm 4 and do not tighten up yet. Following that, put on tire and wheel assembly 1, then use a torque wrench to tighten the wheel mounting nuts to 35.7 ft. lbs. Set the vehicle low and fasten the two nuts 1 connecting the shock assembly 2 to the body bracket 3 using 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.). After the rear trim panel is installed inside, roll the vehicle onto an alignment rack or drive-on lift and raise it as needed to get to bolt 1 and nut 3. Lastly, turn the bolt nut 3 located on the shock assembly's lower mounting bolt to 3-99 Nm (73 ft. lbs.).
