2007 Dodge Caravan Brake Master Cylinder Parts and Q&A
Q: How Is the Brake Master Cylinder Installed on 2007 Dodge Caravan?
A: Check first that the selected master cylinder matches your vehicle's brakes and make sure a new vacuum seal is placed properly over the casting's groove before everything else. Mount the master cylinder over the booster and join it with one mounting nut on each stud, then turn each mounting nut to a torque of 25 Nm (225 in. lbs.). After screwing on the primary and secondary brake tube nuts at the master cylinder, confirm that the brake tubes are not touching any other parts and that the flexible sections have some space for movement between the ABS ICU and master cylinder. Join the ends of both tubes to the pistons inside the master cylinder, steadying the tubes while tightening so the flex section retains its position and tighten the tube nuts to about 17 Nm (145 in. lbs.). After that, fit the wiring harness connector to the brake fluid level switch located in the brake fluid reservoir. Next, handle the battery, clamp and nut and finally the battery shield. Join the positive and negative posts, fill the master cylinder with clean and fresh Mopar(R) Brake Fluid or equivalent, then check the brakes out on the road.
