2007 Dodge Caravan Parking Brake Cable Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain the Right Rear Parking Brake Cable on 2007 Dodge Caravan?
A: Before servicing the right rear parking brake cable, get the vehicle up in the air and remove its rear tire and assembly. After that, take off the rear brake drum to reach the rear park brake cable. Disable the automatic adjuster for the rear parking brake cables, then pull on the exposed front parking brake cable near the equalizer and put locking pliers on it just behind the second body outrigger bracket. Separate the connector between the parking brake and intermediate cable located in the right rear. Use a 14 mm box end wrench to compress the retaining fingers on the cable retainer to take off the cable housing from the body bracket on the right; do not attempt this with an aircraft type hose clamp. Take away the brake shoes from the support plate, before you remove the parking brake cable from the place where it connects to the lever. After that, use a 14 mm wrench to compress the fingers on the brake support plate and then remove the cable housing retainer.
