2007 Dodge Charger Brake Disc Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace the Rear Brake Disc on 2007 Dodge Charger?
A: Before you change the rear brake rotor, always look at the disc brake pads and parking brake shoes. Clean the face around the hub where the brakes are mounted. Secure the brake rotor onto the wheel mounting studs and onto the hub. After that, fit the disc brake caliper and adapter over the rotor. Apply the mounting bolts to tighten the adapter to the knuckle up to 115 Nm (85 ft. lbs.). Then, put on the tire and wheel, checking that the wheel mounting nut torque is 150 Nm (110 ft. lbs.) for the regular version or 190 Nm (140 ft. lbs.) for police-spec cars. Drop the vehicle and press your brake pedal repeatedly to confirm it isn't too soft before you start going. Check the brake fluid level and adjust it when it is too low or too high. Beware that if you have replaced your brake rotors or pads, the first time you brake there might be less braking effectiveness compared to before. Road test the vehicle and stop a few times to make the foreign materials on the brakes wear off and help the brake shoes seat properly.
