2007 Dodge Charger Parking Brake Shoe Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove the Parking Brake Shoe from Each Side on 2007 Dodge Charger?
A: Before removing the parking brake shoes, lift and support the vehicle and then remove the rear hub and bearing. Disengage the parking brake shoe entirely and remove the adjuster spring (3) and shoe (8). After that, disconnect the upper hold-down clip (7), pin (8) and upper brake shoe (6) from the return spring (4) and brake actuator lever (1). Take the return spring (4) off the bottom of the shoe (6), then remove the shoe actuator lever (1) from the cable (2). Following that, remove the brake shoe lower hold-down pin (7) and clip together. Then, lift the lower brake shoe (6) out of the caliper. It's also important to check the springs, adjuster, lever and aluminum shoe anchor pin for signs of wear or damage, so that any worn components can be changed.
