Can the Rear Door Hinge Be Serviced Without Removing the Door on 2007 Dodge Dakota?

You don't have to remove the door if you take out the rear door hinges one after another. Applying a reliable sealant should be done whenever the hinges are removed or adjusted. Open up the front door and then remove the lower b-pillar trim (4) from the dashboard. Place a mark showing the placed washers for the door hinges on that side with a grease pencil, as the epoxy does not require you to remove them from the hinges; door movement may change signs of that. Fit a lifting device under the door and take out the nuts (2) and bolts (1) that secure the door to the hinges. Put a mark on the door and b-pillar to remember where the hinge is supposed to go and then take out the two bolts on the outside of each hinge (3). After that, inside the vehicle, attach a socket to the bolt (2) holding the hinge (1 or 4) to the b-pillar and remove it. Replace the original shouldered door studs with those that do not have a shoulder whenever you install a door.
