2007 Dodge Dakota Door Hinge Parts and Q&A
Q: Can the Rear Door Hinge Be Serviced Without Removing the Door on 2007 Dodge Dakota?
A: You don't have to remove the door if you take out the rear door hinges one after another. Applying a reliable sealant should be done whenever the hinges are removed or adjusted. Open up the front door and then remove the lower b-pillar trim (4) from the dashboard. Place a mark showing the placed washers for the door hinges on that side with a grease pencil, as the epoxy does not require you to remove them from the hinges; door movement may change signs of that. Fit a lifting device under the door and take out the nuts (2) and bolts (1) that secure the door to the hinges. Put a mark on the door and b-pillar to remember where the hinge is supposed to go and then take out the two bolts on the outside of each hinge (3). After that, inside the vehicle, attach a socket to the bolt (2) holding the hinge (1 or 4) to the b-pillar and remove it. Replace the original shouldered door studs with those that do not have a shoulder whenever you install a door.
