Before removing the navigation antenna on a car with air bags, turn off the supplemental restraint system by disconnecting the negative battery terminal and isolating it, then allow two minutes for the system to drain. The first step is to unplug and separate the battery's negative cable. Then, take out the radio and after that, the instrument panel defroster grille. Then, remove the passenger air bag and take out the antenna mounting fasteners before removing the navigation radio antenna last.
