2007 Dodge Nitro Ball Joint Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Ball Joint on 2007 Dodge Nitro?
A: Your first step in servicing the ball joint is to take off the tire and wheel, then the brake caliper and rotor. Special tool 9360 should be used to separate the tie rod from the steering knuckle and to detach the upper ball joint from the knuckle. Also, securely secure the lower ball joint to special tool 8677 and remove it from the knuckle, then take out the steering knuckle. With extreme pressure lubrication, you can keep the threaded parts of the tools in good shape and guarantee they will function as they should during all tool changes. You should then use special tools C-4212-F (PRESS), C-4212-3 (Driver) and 9654-3 (Receiver) to press the ball joint located on the lower control arm.
