2007 Dodge Nitro Shock Absorber Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Shock Absorber by Removing the Clevis Bracket Bushing on 2007 Dodge Nitro?
A: The first thing to do in servicing the shock absorber is take out the wheel and tire, then proceed with disc brake assembly and the wheel speed sensor. After that, separate the lower stabilizer link from the bottom of the control arm and undo the lower clevis bolt at that point. Once the ball joint is loose, take of the upper ball joint nut and use the special tool 9360 separator to free the upper ball joint from the knuckle. Get the control arm down to allow pressing the tool on, using a lot of lubricant on the threaded parts so it will remain strong and perform well during changing. Finally, remove the bushing with specially designed tools C-4212F, 9956 and 9653-1 (Press, Receiver, Driver).
