How to Install the Shift Cable for Park-Interlock on 2007 Dodge Nitro?

Before installing the park-interlock cable, make certain the gearshift cable is in place and set correctly. Insert the park-interlock cable inside the square hole in the steering column and then slide the tie strap into its hole along the steering column tube. Get the shifter cable to the shifter mechanism and slip the end fitting on the cable over the shifter arm (1). First, put the cable adjuster ears into the floor shifter bracket, move the ignition key to LOCK and push the cable adjuster lock clamp downward to secure everything. After that, operate the park-interlock cable and add the floor console with its matching trim pieces.
