2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Washer Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Washer Pump for Gasoline Engines on 2007 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: For windshield washer pump repair in gasoline engines, start by separating and insulating the battery's negative cable. Then, separate the hose from the barbed nipple on the washer pump/motor part to let the fluid flow into a clean bin that you can enjoy a second time. Remove both the right headlamp and dash wire harness connector from the washer pump/motor unit connector receptacle. Hold onto the top of the washer pump/motor housing and gently lift up on the housing away from the washer reservoir to release the snap post on top of the motor from the connection in the reservoir. Removed the unit from the reservoir, reaching in enough to pull out the washer pump or motor's inlet nipple which is barbed, from the rubber grommet in the reservoir. Lift the washer pump/motor unit out from behind the reservoir and remove the seal that was in the reservoir's pump hole.
