• Q: How to Service and Repair a Washer Pump on a Gasoline Engine on 2008 Dodge Ram 1500?

  A: Make sure to install a new rubber grommet seal into the hole in the washer pump where it mounts in the reservoir on your gasoline engine. Place the barbed nipple from the washer pump against the rubber grommet seal and press the pump/motor unit with your hand so the washer pump is seated securely. Put the snap post (2) on the washer pump/motor on top of the pump motor housing and align it with the reservoir receptacle (3). When ready, press down evenly on the top of the unit until the snap post fits into the receptacle. Screw the reservoir washer hose onto the barbed pump outlet nipple (8) and attach the headlamp/dash wire hose connector to the unit connector receptacle (1). Add back the washer fluid that was in the reservoir and then put the negative battery cable back on.
