- Q: How to Install a Washer Pump for Your Windshield on Dodge Ram 1500?A:Stick a new rubber grommet seal/filter screen tightly into the hole for the washer pump in the reservoir when mounting the washer pump. After that, attach the reservoir washer hose to the pump's barbed nipple. After placing the inlet nipple on the base of the pump housing over the rubber grommet seal/filter screen in the reservoir, push downward on the top of the entire unit until you feel the seal screeng transformer settle in the reservoir. Bring the top of the washer pump/motor unit housing level with the receptacle and push it until it snaps into the reservoir. Attach the Front End Module wire harness connector to the washer pump/motor unit connector end on the motor housing. After that, put the Grille back on the front of the car, fill the washer tank with the same fluid and lastly hook up the negative battery terminal.
- Q: How to Remove the Washer Pump on Dodge Ram 1500?A:Before starting any steps on the pump, ensure you disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Collect the washer fluid you drained from the reservoir (1) in a container that's safe to use again. After that, take the Grille off the front end of the vehicle. Take out the wire harness connector (3) from the top of the washer pump/motor unit on the FEM connector receptacle. In order to detach the washer pump/motor housing, lightly pull on its top towards you. Take the motor/pump unit straight up and lift it out of the reservoir to disconnect the inlet tube from the filter screen in the base of the reservoir. Lift the washer pump/motor so you can detach the washer hose from its barbed end on the pump outlet tube. Next, take out the washer pump/motor from the front of the reservoir and throw out the rubber grommet screen/filter you remove from the pump hole.
