2007 Dodge Sprinter 2500 Power Steering Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Correctly Install a Power Steering Pump on 2007 Dodge Sprinter 2500?
A: You should only install the power steering pulley at the first notch in the pulley and not flush to the hub. If you change your power steering pump's pulley, remember to install a new one because the old one cannot be used again. It's necessary to replace a pulley that is bent, cracked or not secured. Place the OTC(R) 7771 power steering pulley installation tool or an alternative on the engine pulley and the pump to fit the pulley correctly onto the engine shaft with both tools aligned. Run your car with the engine going until it feels warm for at least 5 minutes and listen to see if you hear a belt chirp. If you hear a chirping sound, move the pulley exteriorly by around 0.5 mm (0.020 in.) and if it gets worse, press on 1.0 mm (0.040 in.). Just ensure the pulley doesn't come in contact with the bolts.
