2007 Dodge Sprinter 2500 Timing Chain Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a Timing Chain on 2007 Dodge Sprinter 2500?
A: First, you should remove the battery and take out the accessory drive belt for timing belt chain installation. After that, remove the right cylinder head cover and the intake camshaft. Cut one of the timing chain link pins (3) and fit the new chain to the old chain using the temporary link. Grab the timing chain with tension, then move the crankshaft clockwise as the engine would turn. As soon as the new chain goes completely into the engine, unbolt the temporary link and attach the timing chain with a new master link. Install the right intake camshaft and put on the right cylinder head cover. When that is completed, remove the sensors to confirm that the sensor wheel stamps can be spotted in the holes of the sensors (5). Once the accessory drive belt is in place, link the battery back to its position.
