2007 Jeep Commander Drive Belt Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to install a Drive Belt on a 3.7L Engine on 2007 Jeep Commander?
A: When putting a 3.7L engine's drive belt on, always confirm that the pulleys are not worn first. Ensuring the accessory drive belt follows a right path is necessary to keep the engine from warming up too much because of the water pump going in the wrong rotation. At the beginning, put the belt on every pulley except the idler pulley. Turn the tensioner arm in a clockwise direction up to its end position, then loop the belt around the idler pulley as you allow the tensioner to slowly move into the path of the belt.
