2007 Jeep Commander Wiper Motor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Properly Position and Secure a Wiper Motor in the Liftgate on 2007 Jeep Commander?
A: Put the rear wiper motor and mounting bracket into the liftgate and leave the two mounting screws unlocked. Adapt the motor output shaft to the hole in the liftgate outer panel. Then, use the two mounting screws to attach the bracket in the liftgate. Once removed from the liftgate, set the bezel onto the motor output on the outside of the liftgate and secure it in the hole created for it. Connect the nut that ties the bezel and output shaft to the liftgate's outer panel and torque it to 5 Nm (43 in. lbs.) Inside the liftgate, put the two screws into the slots on the motor bracket and tighten them to 6 Nm (50 in. lbs.). Attach the liftgate wire harness cable back into the wiper motor's receptacle. Attach the trim panel onto the liftgate's inner part. Attach the rear wiper arm to the output shaft and then plug the battery negative cable back into the car.
