2008 Jeep Commander Wiper Motor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain a Wiper Motor on 2008 Jeep Commander?
A: Before beginning, make sure to disconnect the battery negative cable. After that, take off the rear wiper arm from the wiper motor's output shaft. After that, loosen and remove the nut connecting the output shaft and the bezel to the outer panel and remove the bezel from the wiper shaft. Once that's done, remove the plastic trim panel from the inner part of the liftgate. Pull the wire harness connector from the rear wiper motor off the liftgate. Remove the two screws that hold the motor mounting bracket to the bracket inside the liftgate and then slide the wiper motor forward until the keyed holes do not secure the mounting screws any longer. Remove the motor from inside the liftgate as your last step.
