2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Brake Caliper Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace a Brake Caliper on 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: Before removing and replacing the rear brake caliper, add the brake pads. Use trace amounts of caliper slide grease or the supplied grease to lubricate the slide pins and slide pin bushings. Then, place the caliper onto the anchor and hold it in place with the caliper slide pin bolts, tightening them to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Straighten or set the brake hose right to avoid twisting before you tighten the bolt. Join the end of the hose to the caliper along with new gaskets, then tighten the banjo bolt to a torque range of 31 Nm (23 ft. lbs.). Fill and bleed the brakes after that and next, put in the wheel and tire assemblies. Last, take away the supports and carefully slowly move the vehicle to the ground.
