How to Service a Dimmer Switch on 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

To access the combination switch, you should set the supplemental restraint system to standby by disconnecting and separating the negative battery cable and waiting for two minutes. After that, take off both the upper and lower shrouds from above and below the steering column. Subsequently, open the panel by taking out the screws on the left multi-function switch (1) from the two locating tabs (3) on the left side of the Steering Control Module (SCM) (2). Pull the switch out from the back of the SCM as far as it will go, then lift it out from the SCM.
