2007 Jeep Liberty Clutch Fork Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Address Issues with the Clutch Fork on a 2007 Jeep Liberty?
A: The clutch release fork should only be serviced and repaired when the vehicle is in neutral and supported by a hoist. Remove the nuts that fix the slave cylinder to the clutch housing and pull the slave cylinder out. If your car has it, remove the clutch fluid line from any body clips. Sit the vehicle at a suitable level and close the reservoir cap to ensure the fluid won't escape. After that, unscrew the attaching nuts on the clutch master cylinder and remove the master cylinder actuator from its pin on the pedal arm. Separate the clutch interlock safety switch wires and unhook the hydraulic linkage through the hood. The linkage components cannot be serviced separately, so only the entire assembly of the master cylinder, slave cylinder and connecting line is serviced.
