2007 Jeep Liberty Automatic Transmission Shifter Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install an Automatic Transmission Shifter Assembly on 2007 Jeep Liberty?
A: Place the shifter assembly onto the studs on the floor pan and secure it by putting in place the nuts, tightening them to 28 Nm (250 in.lbs.). Then, connect the wiring harness to the shifter assembly bracket and get the wire connectors you removed linked up again. Slide the lock cable from the selector into the bracket that holds the shifter and secure it. Set the floor shifter in the park position, loosen the screw on the shift cable and clip the cable onto the shift lever pin. Ensure the shifter knob is in PARK before turning the adjustment screw 7 Nm (65 in.lbs.). Afterwards, double-check the proper functions of the shifter and BTSI, make needed repairs to the park-interlock cable and insert any console components you set aside for access to the shift lever assembly and cables.
