2007 Jeep Liberty Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Fuel Rail on a 3.7L Engine on 2007 Jeep Liberty?
A: It is necessary to relax fuel system pressure before servicing the fuel rail on a 3.7L engine. The left and right fuel rails should always be replaced as a set and it is important not to open the halves at the connector tube (10), since that tube does not have clamps-keep any tools away from the tube and do not bend or kink it. Take off the fuel tank filler tube cap first, then apply the Fuel System Pressure Release procedure. Remove the battery's negative cable, pull out the air duct and air box from the throttle body and now separate the fuel line using a proper tool for the latch clip. After that, take out the vacuum or vapor lines if they are needed at the throttle body and use the slider and tab to pull off all six fuel injector connector wires. To help identify each injector, the fuel injection wiring harness is marked. If yours isn't tagged, make a note of the wiring's location. Remove the electrical connections at the throttle body sensors, unscrew the six ignition coils and take out the four fuel rail bolts. Gently wiggle and move the left fuel rail until the injectors slide through the machined holes and then do the same thing on the right side. Remove the fuel rail which is still connected to the injectors, from the engine. Should the fuel injectors be removed, use the proper steps for their removal.
