  A: If servicing the power steering pump, never reinstall the old pulley; if you take it out, you must install a new one and label it front position for proper reinstallation. Should the pulley show any bends, chips or lose connections, you should replace it. Use Installer C-4063-B or an alternative to secure the new pulley to the pump and make sure the pulley and the tool are both flush with the shaft and lined up with the pump's shaft. After the pump assembly has been put in place, run the engine with the serpentine belt turned on for 5 minutes to hear for the belt chirping. If you hear a chirp, take the pulley outward by 0.5 mm (0.020 in.) and if noise increases as you do this, press it toward the inner side by 1.0 mm (0.040 in.) but don't let the pulley come into contact with the mounting bolts.
