2007 Jeep Wrangler Seat Belt Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Seat Belt in the Second Row Center of a Four-Door on 2007 Jeep Wrangler?
A: For service and repair work on the four-door second row center seat belt, review all seat belts, buckles, mounting hardware, retractors, tether straps and anchors, to ensure proper installation, as well as like-new condition. Fix any damages by replacing frayed or twisted straps, replace any broken or damaged buckles and install new fasteners if they are too loose. Child restraint anchors that have been damaged should be exchanged for fresh ones and you should avoid repairing any part of the seat belt or child restraint; instead, use parts listed in the DaimlerChrysler Mopar Parts Catalog. All retractors in the car except the driver's front seat are fitted with a switchable automatic locking mechanism. After unclipping, the right second row seat belt anchor is secured to the second row center seat belt anchor with a soft metal grommet that does not have to be replaced. First, take out the second row seat belt buckle and the center seat belt lower anchor unit on your car's rear floor panel and separate them. Now, remove the second row seat all at once and put it on a nice work area, keeping the trim cover safe from any damage. After that, unfix the bezel, peel off the trim cover and remove the foam from the 60 percent seat back panel. Begin by freeing the retractor locking cable housing and cable end from the right outboard seat back latch, then unscrew the seat belt retractor and finally, take out the second row center seat belt and its retractor from back panel.
