2008 Chrysler 300 Tie Rod End Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service the Tie Rod End on 2008 Chrysler 300?
A: Before working on the outer tie rod of a rear-wheel-drive car, lift and keep it standing on supports. Loose the wheel mounting nuts and remove the front wheel and tire. When you loosen the jam nut and rotate the inner tie rod, keep the bellows at the inner tie rod straight so it doesn't get mixed up and remove the clamp to make sure you can rotate the bellows before continuing. The next step is to loosen the tight nut that holds the outer tie rod in place. At the knuckle, take out the outer nut of the tie rod end. Take out the outer tie rod end from the knuckle with Remover, Special Tool 9360. The last step is to take the outer tie rod off the inner one, counting how many turns it takes to remove it so you remember later when you need to set the toe values.
