2008 Chrysler Aspen Engine Mount Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install and Secure an Engine Mount for 2WD and 4WD on 2008 Chrysler Aspen?
A: Set the front engine mount on your 2WD car by gluing the mount to block using Mopar(R) Lock and Seal Adhesive and the left engine bracket to the bolts that connect to the front axle. Attach the left and right engine mounts to the block bolts, loosely engage them to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs). After that, fit the through bolts into the engine mounts and put one nut on each bolt, keeping them loose. Place the engine in position using Engine Support 8534, so the through bolts fit into the frame brackets' slots. Tighten the through bolt nuts to 94 Nm (70 ft. lbs.). After removing the negative battery cable, attach the oil drain trough, engine oil filter and make sure to reconnect the battery's negative cable. Also use Mopar(R) Lock and Seal Adhesive on the mount to engine block and left engine bracket to front axle bolts for 4WD. First, fit the engine mount brackets on the engine, then put on the right and left side engine mounts at the front axle and tighten the nuts by 94 Nm (70 ft. lbs.). Hold the front axle up into the frame and bolt the left and right sides at the through holes, then tighten the nuts to 94 Nm (70 ft. lbs.). Put the upper through bolts into the engine mounts and put the nuts on loosely. Use Engine Support 8534 to lower the engine until its brackets rest on the through bolts and the through holes in the lower engine bracket match with the engine mount holes and the left bracket through holes match the front axle slots. Put the bolts for the axle and engine bracket together loosely, as well as the lower through bolts. To 101 Nm (75 ft. lbs.), tighten the through bolt nuts and the ones attaching the front axle to the engine bracket. After that, set up the drain trough, insert the engine oil filter, install the cooling fan and reconnect the negative battery cable.
