2007 Chrysler Aspen Exhaust Manifold Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Correctly Install an Exhaust Manifold on 2007 Chrysler Aspen?
A: First, put the exhaust manifold and its gasket under the engine compartment and fasten the lower exhaust clamps loose. When the vehicle is at the proper height, attach all fasteners for the upper exhaust manifold and tighten each one starting in the middle and heading outwards to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Tighten the heat shield fasteners only to the point needed, as pushing too hard may distort or damage them. Following this, push the exhaust manifold heat shield in place and tighten the clamps to 8 Nm (72 in. lbs.) before releasing them again by 45 degrees. The next step is to fit the starter and its bolts, link the exhaust pipe to the manifold and tighten the heater hoses onto the engine. After that, install the accumulator fastener, place the A/C compressor and attach its fasteners. After installing the accessory drive belt, place the air cleaner assembly, resonator assembly and air inlet hose. After that, put in the battery and link all the cables before filling the cooling system. Go through the same initial process of installing the exhaust manifold and gasket from under the engine compartment, then secure the lower exhaust manifold screws, leaving them loose until every bolt is connected. The after you lower the vehicle, secure the upper exhaust manifold and fasten all manifold bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.), careful not to over tighten the heat shield bolts. Attach the exhaust manifold heat shield and tighten the bolts to 8 Nm (72 in. lbs.), then loosen them by 45 degrees. Hook the exhaust pipe up to the manifold and attach the negative battery cable at the end.
