2009 Chrysler Aspen Exhaust Manifold Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove the Exhaust Manifold from Both Sides on 2009 Chrysler Aspen?
A: You should disconnect the negative cable from the battery before taking out the air cleaner assembly, resonator assembly and air inlet hose when removing the right exhaust manifold. Lift out the accessory drive belt from the car after that and remove the A/C compressor as well as the support bracket fastener. Lower the engine coolant beneath the heater hose and eliminate the heater hoses attached to the engine. Release the fasteners holding the heat shield onto the exhaust manifold and slide out the heat shield. Remove the fasteners on the upper exhaust manifold after that, raise the vehicle, separate the exhaust from the manifold and disconnect the starter's fasteners to move it out of the way. Afterwards, get rid of the lower exhaust manifold fasteners and then get the exhaust manifold and the gasket off from below. To remove the left exhaust manifold, take off the negative cable from the battery and lift the car. Remove the exhaust pipe from the manifold, lower your vehicle and then remove the front two heat shield fasteners under the car. Raise the vehicle once more to remove the fasteners on the heat shield at the back and then take the heat shield off. After the car is lowered, remove the upper exhaust manifold retaining bolts; raise it again to remove the lower bolts; and then pull out the exhaust manifold and its gasket at the bottom of the engine area.
