2008 Chrysler Aspen Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Fuel Rail on a 4.7L Engine on 2008 Chrysler Aspen?
A: Before servicing the fuel rail on a 4.7L engine, be sure the fuel system pressure is released, because the engine's fuel pressure is always on, even when it is turned off. First, take out the filler tube cap before doing the fuel system pressure release procedure. Unplug the negative battery cable and take out both the air duct and air box near the throttle body. After that, detach the air resonator mounting bracket by loosening the two bolts. Disconnect the line to the fuel rail using a fitting tool and take out any vacuum tubes at the throttle body. Using your hands, push away the red slider on every fuel injector, then press the tab to take out the connector. Injector position markings are found on the tag of the fuel injection wiring harness. Added to that, take out the electrical connectors from every throttle body sensor. Take out the eight ignition coils and afterwards remove the four bolts holding the fuel rails in place. Use a gentle rocking force on the left side of the fuel rail till the injectors go past the spots in the cylinder head, then try the same on the right side till every injector is past the snagged spots. Afterward, remove the fuel rail with the injectors still on it from the engine block. If you are removing the fuel injectors, use the correct procedure.
