2008 Chrysler Aspen Ignition Coil Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install an Ignition Coil on a 4.7L V-8 Engine on 2008 Chrysler Aspen?
A: When putting an ignition coil on a 4.7L V-8 engine, first use compressed air to dust off any dirt or pollutants from around the top of the spark plug. Inspect the rubber boot on the coil and grease the end of the rubber boot and the spark plug using Mopar(R) Dielectric Grease # J8126688. Place the ignition coil in the opening of the cylinder head and turn it to fasten it onto the spark plug. The bolt for the coil mount is also used to secure the intake manifold, so make sure to tighten it to 12 Nm (106 in.lbs.) torque and then recheck all mounting bolts when replacing any coils. Snap the electrical connector onto the coil and then fix the secondary cable to the coil. When required, replace or reinstall the throttle body air intake tube or intake air box again.
