2008 Chrysler Crossfire Automatic Transmission Filter Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace an Automatic Transmission Filter on 2008 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: First, get the vehicle in the air, then place a drain pan below the transmission where you'll find the drain plug (2) along with its gasket (1) and make sure you remove both of them before the transmission empties (3). Subsequently, unplug the wire harness (1) from its spot behind the heat shield and take out the screws (2) holding the heat shield so it is out of the way. Then, remove the last three screws and take out the transmission pan, throw away the old filter from the valve body. Wash the oil pan and the gasket and after that, put in a new transmission filter (6). When the transmission pan gasket is leaking or swollen, change it out before you put on the transmission pan and its bolts, tightening them to 8 Nm (71 in. lbs.). Fit a new gasket (1) on the drain plug (2) and tighten to 20 Nm (15 lbs.ft.). Attach and tighten the heat shield bolts to 8 Nm (71 in. lbs.), then bring the oxygen sensor wire harness back to the heat shield and link the wire harness connectors. Afterwards, put the vehicle on its wheels and add the right fluid to the transmission.
