2008 Chrysler Crossfire Pressure Plate Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Reinstall a Clutch Cover Using a Pressure Plate on 2008 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: When you want to install the pressure plate but reuse the clutch cover, you first lift diaphragm pressure using an old release bearing or a length of pipe and then set the adjusting ring to the correct height. First, put the clutch disc and clutch cover on the flywheel and then punch in the bolts, leaving them loose for now. Make use of a standard clutch alignment tool to get the disc to the proper alignment. Go 1 to 1 1/2 turns at a time to seat the clutch cover bolts before finishing off by tightening them to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). After you have finished tightening, take out the clutch alignment tool and start installing the transmission.
