2007 Chrysler Crossfire Automatic Transmission Filter Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Replace an Automatic Transmission Filter on 2007 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Support the car first, raising it so you can put the drain pan (2) beneath the drain plug and tip out the transmission fluid and gasket (1). Then, pull the oxygen sensor wire harness (1) away from the heat shield, remove the screws (2) holding the heat shield together and lay it aside. After that, unscrew the remaining 3 screws and take off the transmission pan (1). Remove the old transmission filter from the valve body and then clean the parts of the oil pan and its gasket. Replacement of the transmission filter (6) and changing the pan gasket if it looks damaged or swollen is required. Install the transmission pan (1) and the three bolts (3), tightening them to 8 Nm (71 in. lbs.). After that, add the drain plug (2) with a new gasket (1) and tighten it to the same pressure: 20 Nm (15 lbs.ft.). After you have reconnected the heat shield and bolts (two), fit the oxygen sensor harness (one) back inside the shield and secure both wires with the heat shield connector. After that, lower your vehicle and ensure you put in the proper amount of transmission fluid.
