2008 Chrysler Crossfire Oil Pan Parts and Q&A
Q: How is the Oil Pan Installed on 2008 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: The first step to installing the upper oil pan is to clean both sides of the gasket. Put a 1.5 to 2.5 mm thick line of Mopar RTV 11176837 or similar sealer around the oil pan on the engine surface. Set the upper oil pan on the engine block and use the proper bolts of correct size, M6 X 20, M6 X 40, M6 X 90 and M8 X 30, to secure it with the bolts. Tighten the M6 bolts first to 10 Nm, then follow the diagram to turn the M8 bolts to 20 Nm. Lift the lower oil pan into the vehicle, lower the car and the engine into place with the support bracket and then eliminate the support bracket. Fit the dipstick tube, then lift the car and fasten the front engine mount bolts to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.) Attach the sensor harness, fit the front exhaust system and use retaining screws for the splash shield at 5 Nm (44 in. lbs). Set the car lower again, install the engine cover, ensure the engine oil is right and attach the car's negative battery cable next.
