2007 Chrysler Crossfire Oil Pan Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair an Oil Pan for Lower on 2007 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Your first step in servicing or repairing the lower oil pan should be to clean the lower oil pan and the bottom of the upper oil pan gasket thoroughly. Use approximately 1.5 to 2.5 mm of Mopar Engine Sealant RTV, 04883971 or an equal sealant, on the bottom surface of the oil pan. Replace the lower oil pan and all the oil pan bolts, tightening them to 14 Nm (10 ft. lbs.). Set the transmission cooler lines and retainer parts in place, tightening each bolt to 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.). Screw in the oil pan drain plug to a desk-tight torque of 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.). First, attach the lower splash shield with the screws and tighten them to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.). Lower the car, put oil into the crankcase, then turn the engine on and see if it leaks.
