2007 Chrysler Crossfire Pressure Plate Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install and Adjust a Pressure Plate for Service and Repair on 2007 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: If you plan to reuse the clutch cover, the pressure plate must be adjusted. Set the clutch away from its rest, slide the old release bearing or a length of pipe through and orient the adjusting ring to the specified mark. Place the clutch disc and cover onto the flywheel and then set the clutch cover bolts into place loosely. Use a fitting clutch alignment tool to adjust the clutch disc, slowly add torque to the bolts that secure the clutch cover, doing just 1 or 1 1/2 turns at a time. After all the bolts have been pushed in, tighten them to a torque of 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Then, take away the clutch alignment tool and replace it with the transmission.
