2008 Chrysler Crossfire Steering Knuckle Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a Rear Steering Knuckle and Its Components on 2008 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: All nuts and bolts should be tightened with the rear axle halfshaft in a horizontal position. The first step is to set the knuckle onto the vehicle, before fitting the trailing link using 2 nuts and bolts, then the lateral link using 2 nuts and bolts and finally finishing off with the track bar also with 2 nuts and bolts. After that, set in place the lower control arm. Install the rear disc brake dust shield onto the rear hub assembly with bolts (1) and tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 in. lbs.). Install the rear axle halfshaft into the rear hub assembly, using a new retaining nut that you should tighten to 220 Nm (164 ft. lbs.). Come next is installing the rear Wheel Speed Sensor (2) and the parking brake cable (2) which should be done before adding the parking brake shoe assembly (1-5). Following this, put the disc brake rotor (1) in place and then secure the rear disc brake caliper by adding the bolts (1). After that, put on the wheel and tire as a unit and ensure the vehicle is nicely aligned.
