When servicing the EGR valve, let the engine cool down, as the EGR valve and tube run hot. First, unhook the negative battery cable to make sure the engine controller learns accurate values after repairs. Open the electrical connector from the EGR valve and after that, remove the bolts, the gasket and the EGR tube from the EGR valve. After that, unscrew the bolts, gasket and EGR valve from the cylinder head.
