2008 Chrysler Pacifica Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service a Fuel Rail on a 3.8L Engine on 2008 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: The fuel rail on a 3.8L engine should be serviced after releasing the fuel system pressure. Take off the negative battery terminal and unlink it from the battery and then remove the clean air hose at the throttle body. First, use the proper tool to free and remove the quick connect fuel line from the fuel rail. After that, take off the upper intake manifold and mark each fuel injector electrical harness connector with the correct cylinder number. Take out the fuel rail by removing the electrical connectors from the injectors and also removing the fuel rail mounting bolts. Pull the fuel rail vertically off the lower intake manifold and label or tag each fuel injector with the matching engine cylinder number. Then, take out the retaining clips from the fuel injectors on the fuel rail and free the fuel injectors from the rail.
